In the abandoned house

Phantoms move along the walls

The boards creak

The plaster flakes

And the chandelier hangs down from exposed wires

The balls that were held were a thing of the past

The mice and rats the only guests that arrive

Insects inside the walls chew the beams

No one comes to hunt for ghosts anymore

No one comes at all

Except the rain

One more bad storm and the rest of the roof will collapse

And soon after that there will be nothing at all.
