Saturday Night Tome by Andres Diaz ©2021

It’s Saturday night and I have a tale to tell

It will ring louder than the midnight bell

The land is ancient

Its trees are bent

The sky is black with pin pricks of light

The moon casts long shadows causing great fright

The strange sounds surround

Footsteps cross the ground

Heavy breathing intensifies

Soon there will be muffled cries

Dread and despair are drawing near

Over your shoulder, from the rear

You thought this place would be fun

But there’s only night, never any sun

The creatures and entities that possess

Love to cause you cardiac duress

So get on your knees and bare your throat

Because this is the end of all you wrote.
